Seoul, Seoul, Seoul! (Overview)

Been back home in Melbourne for almost a month and a bit now and am still very much missing Korea. I never knew it was possible to go to a country and miss it as soon as I left the place. I constantly find myself thinking of ways/opportunities - work, study, bum around/excuses to go back; I've been on Korean universities' websites looking at the opportunities to study the language in the country itself. Unfortunately, the whole idea albeit tempting is just not financially justifiable/doable. sad.

Friends often ask me what I loved so much about Seoul and I tell them, EVERYTHING!! The food (ohmygosh, the FOOD!), shopping (it was coincidentally their Korean Grand Sale time), their fashion, street architecture, etc etc

After much research, we decided to stay in Hongdae (Hong-ik, 홍대). Although Myeongdong is usually the go-to place for most tourists, personally Hongdae was my favourite because the area is not just filled with huge chain-stores but has also managed to preserve some of Indie culture - you can expect to be serenaded by young talented buskers on the streets during the night. The streets are packed with Korean BBQ restaurants, Korean Fried Chicken joints, random eateries, quirky cafes and desserts.

One of the major highlights of our trip was attending the 23rd Seoul Music Awards at Jamsil Sports Complex - yes, we won tickets to the awards! It was such an experience and I truly felt so blessed being able to experience something so different.
